Ronny Næss
Ronny Næss is a visual storyteller with roots in Oslo and a career shaped by the creative pulse of Paris, New York, and Miami. After studying at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York, he spent his early years assisting top photographers and building a strong presence across fashion, music, and editorial work.
In 1995, he launched B&R Studios in Oslo and went on to collaborate with publications like Elle and a range of international fashion magazines, record labels, and ad agencies. His editorial style merges elegance with raw energy, developed through long-standing relationships with agencies like Ford and Next. Artistic projects include Unbridled(Photographers’ Gallery, London) and the conceptual series Diesel Leftovers, as well as a creative collaboration with Polaroid UK in 2006.
Today, Ronny shares his experience as part of the WorkshopsNYC team—bringing his eye for storytelling, deep industry knowledge, and calm presence to the next generation of photographers. He’s especially passionate about helping students refine their voice, challenge their habits, and translate what they see into something honest, strong, and personal.
He’s not one for shortcuts or gimmicks—Ronny teaches with clarity, intention, and high expectations. Whether walking through a shoot or sitting down for critique, he brings both a sharp eye and years of practical insight that push students to think, see, and create with more purpose.
